I am overdue for a blog post, but since no fines are involved like a late library book, I am giving myself a free extension until next week. I have been meaning to sit with a latte and jot down my thoughts for a while now, but truth be told I have been enjoying being less present this summer. I called it my “summer hibernation.” I haven’t been hiding in bed with the covers over my head or anything dramatic like that, but I did embrace some quiet time for healing and recharging (physically from some medical procedures and mentally from a collection of life events). I used the time to experiment with some new recipes, try some specialty flours (which are greyhound-approved), and practice my knitting. And now I am delighted to say, I am recharged.
August is quickly coming to an end and so are some of our summer seasonal scones. Our strawberry basil scones and the cherry almond scones will only be available through the end of August. You can order these on our scone page, via email, or through Instagram. I will be introducing a few new flavors for fall at the beginning of September including fig and hazelnut!
We are also finalizing our fall pastry trailer schedule. We are excited to get back out there now that the summer temperatures are beginning to drop a bit. Our schedule will be posted soon. Stay tuned.
Lastly, thank you for everyone’s patience as I worked through a difficult summer! And remember, when life gives you lemons, make lemon ginger scones!
xx
Stephanie
