Christmas is right around the corner. The atmosphere is festive and bright, filled with holiday tunes, lights, decorations, and delectable treats. Cozy moments with spiced cider that you never want to end, paired with the simplicity of togetherness, create memories that will be cherished for years to come.
This year, I embraced intention and quality over quantity, setting boundaries to create space to truly enjoy the merriment of the season. Skipping the hustle and bustle created a sense of calm and relaxation that was much appreciated by the body and mind. After all, Christmas should be a time of joy and celebration, not chaos.
This season has been filled with all my favorites - baking, crafting, letter writing, holiday markets, silver screen Christmas classics, and seeing the Nutcracker ballet, which is like stepping into a magical storybook.
I have also enjoyed all the wonderful Christmas traditions and activities that all of you have shared with me. Sharing these stories is a powerful way to foster connections and allow the true spirit of the season to shine through. So thank you! Here is a list of some of the holiday joys from all of you:
Making caramels
Embroidering tea towels
Making mini bundt cakes for gifts
Hanging ornaments from lifelong collections
Listening to Christmas music
Attending Christmas plays
Listening to the community choir
Get-together with friends for dessert and games
Sharing stories and reflecting on Christmases past
Driving to look at Christmas lights
Visiting Nevada City for the Victorian Christmas
Reading the Christmas Carol
Reading Christmas stories to children before bed
Taking pictures with Santa
Waiting on the street corner for the neighborhood Santa to drive by
Participating in a holiday fun run
Meeting friends at a local cafe for coffee
Cookie exchanges
Sending handwritten Christmas cards
Wrapping presents and listening to Christmas music
And last but not least - a congratulatory shout-out to my parents, who just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
Although Christmas and New Year’s are still yet to come, I wanted to take a moment to wish all of you a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. Thank you for your generosity, support, and friendship.
xx
Stephanie
